Our History
Wealthpoint Insurance Brokers was founded when two seasoned brokerages namely Alex Smith Brokers and Sentrafin Brokers merged together in 2012.
Alex Smith Brokers and Sentrafin Brokers entered the insurance sector back in 1990 and 1991 respectively. Both these brokerages earned successful careers with distinguished track records.
Our current director and co-founder Alex Smith, was the solitary owner of Alex Smith Brokers and also current director and co-founder Ansa Glas, the solitary owner of Sentrafin Brokers.
They initially concentrated on long-term insurance products such as life cover, disability cover, critical illness cover and income protection cover, along with endowment policies, retirement annuities and investment plans.
In later years more products were incorporated such as pension funds, medical aid plans and short-term insurance, along with additional services like estate planning, estate administration, wills and testaments and tax for individuals.
Alex Smith Brokers in particular focused considerably on their short-term insurance book and made an appreciable effort to grow this portfolio quite substantially.
Alex Smith Brokers and Sentrafin Brokers operated as sole proprietors which mainly contributed to the resolution to merge, not only to progress and evolve together, but for continuity reasons as well.
With the establishment of Wealthpoint Insurance Brokers we have assembled a formidable team of dynamic advisors to assist our valued clients.
